Romans 8:14-17  “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”

John 14:26-27 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

John 16:7 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.”

Praise the Lord, He did not design us to navigate this life alone! He is our Good Shepherd, and He is leading us! He leads our steps, our decisions, our relationships, and our direction. He disciples and fashions our hearts into His image and character, calling us up into spiritual maturity.

If your heart is all in, fully surrendered, and fully after Him, then you can rest in the truth that He’s got you. His faithfulness sets you, and keeps you RIGHT ON TRACK. (Even when it seems like the long and windy way!)

Have you been striving to figure things out on your own, or are you truly trusting the Lord to lead you? In what areas of your life do you need to breathe and rest in His leadership?

Take time out today to let it all go, and join the Holy Ghost adventure that He has planned for your life!

The Holy Spirit Will Never Contradict the Word

The Holy Spirit will never lead you to do something that contradicts the written Word of God. Saying, “The Holy Spirit told me to lie… steal… commit adultery…” Is a NO. Never. Absolutely not.

The Word of God is our foundation for discernment. If you want to be led by the Spirit, you’ve got to be anchored in the Word. Open your Bible every single day. Take heed and truly listen to your pastors messages every Sunday. Let the Word of God shape your mind and train your spirit to recognize His voice.

Take notes. Be a student of the Word. The more of the Word you know, the more clearly you’ll hear the Holy Spirit speaking!

How well do you know the voice of God through His Word? Are you daily feeding your spirit with the Word so that you can discern the voice of the Holy Spirit clearly in your life?

The Peace of God is Your Compass

Colossians 3:15 (AMP) “Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts.”

Peace is the compass of the Spirit-led life. When you’re at a crossroads, or in a transitionary time, check for the peace of God. He brings His people deep, anchoring peace that silences fear and settles any anxiety in your soul. Praise God, His Holy Spirit does not push you with stress or panic! He leads you and guides you with peace.

Do you have deep, inner peace about the decisions you’re currently making in life? What areas do you feel unsettled in right now? Invite the Holy Spirit into those decisions, and take time to meditate on His voice.

You Have Spiritual Senses

Isaiah 30:21 "Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it…”

Acts 2:17 "Your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.”

You’ve been born again with spiritual faculties, you can hear, see, feel, and discern by the Spirit of God.

God speaks through impressions, promptings, inner knowing, dreams, visions, and His “still small voice.” Sometimes it’s a tug in your spirit, and sometimes it’s a divine interruption! As your heart is postured to hear and see, you will hear and see what He is revealing to you!

The Holy Spirit Leads us to Life and Liberty

Romans 8:6 “To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

John 10:10 “I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.”

The Holy Spirit will never lead you to destruction. If the voice you’re hearing leads to fear, confusion, unrighteousness, or compromise, it’s not Him. The Holy Spirit leads to life, liberty, righteousness, and truth.

Know Who You Are

Romans 8:14-17  “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”

You are not an outsider trying to earn your way in. You are a son. You are a daughter. Adopted, redeemed, and restored to your true identity in Christ Jesus. You can be led with confidence, because you belong to the One who leads you.

Declare this today, “I’m in the Family. I’m a child of God. I hear His voice. I am led by His Spirit and I follow Him!”

Posture Your Heart to Hear

1 Samuel 3:10 “Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.”

There’s a posture of being led. It’s attentive, it’s expectant, it’s reverent. Make space to listen. Slow your soul and be still before Him. The Lord is always speaking, are you listening?

Is your heart truly postured to listen, or is it too busy to hear? When was the last time you simply sat still and said, “Speak Lord, your servant is listening”?

Make It Easy for the Lord to Lead You

Psalm 32:8-9 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding, which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, else they will not come near you.”

Let’s not be stubborn! Let’s be teachable. The more obedient you are, the more clearly you’ll hear. If things feel cloudy right now, go back and ask, “Have I obeyed the last thing the Lord asked me to do?”

Is there an area where you’ve resisted the Lord’s leading? What’s the last thing God told you to do? Have you followed through?

Write the Vision

Habakkuk 2:2 “Write the vision and make it plain.”

Journal what He speaks to you! Write down the words, the leading, the dreams, the scriptures. This strengthens your memory and faith. You will truly be amazed in the years to come at how FAITHFUL HE IS, and how He ALWAYS follows through with what He has spoken to you!!

Pray in the Spirit

Jude 1:20 “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.”

1 Corinthians 14:4 “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself…”

Praying in the Spirit is one of the most powerful ways to stay spiritually strong and sharp. It tunes you into the Spirit realm. It strengthens your inner man, and edifies your most holy faith.

Make time this week to intentionally pray in the Spirit. Stir up the gift. It will open the door to seeing and hearing more clearly from the Holy Spirit.

What difference do you notice when you increase time praying in tongues?

Being led by the Spirit of God is the powerful, adventurous life of the believer. The Holy Spirit is your Guide, your Comforter, your Teacher. He is speaking and leading us every day. And He is always faithful.

Stay in the Word!

Stay in prayer!

Stay yielded!

You can be led by the Spirit of God!
