Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

The word ‘transformed’ means to transfigure by supernatural change. God’s Word is Supreme Authority, so each time you submit your thoughts to it, supernatural change takes place in your mind!

Nobody comes into salvation with a renewed mind. It is a process of growth, and the more you study and declare God’s Word, the stronger you are against every attack of the enemy.

If you have struggled with unholy thoughts, lies that have been spoken over you, a reputation you once had, pride, confusion, unworthiness, vengeance, insecurities, hatred, or even suicide, you are not alone and you can be set free! Thoughts are not permanent, and your brain can change as you immerse your thinking and meditation upon His Word.

By God’s power, your thought life will be transformed to match the very thoughts of Jesus Christ!

1. The Mind of the Spirit always Triumphs the Mind of the Flesh

As most of us have learned the hard way, the mind of the flesh is selfish! It is a carnal trap that leads to confusion, sin and death. But the mind of the spirit is selfless, peaceful, victorious, and bears healthy fruit in your life and body!

Romans 8:6 “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

Do you notice the word peace is used in conjunction with a mind subjected and stayed on the Spirit? God leads us by His peace. Peace always triumphs confusion, and you can live in His peace, as your mind stays submitted to the Spirit.

2. Know Your Adversary and Where He’ll Attack - Your Mind

The schemes of the devil are the same as they’ve always been. He works to bring confusion to your mind and thinking. He does this by constantly attacking you with lies contrary to God’s Word. Satan’s desire is to keep you doubting the truth of who God says you are. If he can get you into confusion, your thoughts will become toxic, and your faith will be greatly hindered.

Do not fear, God has given you every weapon you need to overcome!

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

3. Take Action Against Toxic Thoughts

We each personally must take captive every toxic thought that is contrary to His truth! Put on the armor of God, and take the sword of the Spirit to the back of the enemy, forcing him out of your life. Apply the Word of God like a ‘seek and destroy’ missile to the lies that you have believed.

God’s Word is your standard of thinking now. Anything less has got to go. As you resist the devil and the lies he has attacked you with, he will flee from you!

James 4:7 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

4. Prosper and Be in Health, Even as Your Soul Prospers

3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.”

Your soul prospering is the key to a prosperous life and a healthy body. Your choices determine life and death, blessing and cursing. God gave us the key, when He told us to choose life!

Thoughts are real, they take up ‘mental real estate’ in our minds. What we think on builds how we view life, how we view others, how we view ourselves, and how we view God. A prosperous mind produces prosperous relationships, prosperous finances, and a healthy body. In the same way, a toxic mind produces toxic relationships, poverty, and sickness. Choose life!

Our soul will prosper as we yield to the mind of the Spirit and think on whatever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy. This does not make you ‘weak’ or ‘in denial,’ it makes you a doer of God’s Word.

Philipians 4:8-9 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”
